As the vaccine against Covid-19 is about to be rolled out around the world, Facebook says it will begin to eradicate the false notion of immunization rejected by public health experts.
With the Covid-19 vaccine set to be rolled out around the world, Facebook has said it will begin to eradicate the misconceptions about immunization that have been rejected by public health experts.
The move, announced Thursday, is in line with Facebook’s recent policy of downloading misleading information about the deadly virus that causes physical harm.
Facebook says the types of posts to be deleted on Facebook or Instagram include misconceptions about the safety, efficacy, ingredients, or side effects of the vaccine. These may include microchips or other items that are not part of the official list of vaccines.
In October, Facebook said it would ban ads that prevent people from getting vaccinations, not just for Covid.
Facebook said it would continue to provide information to authoritative information from public health agencies such as the World Health Organization and the UK National Health Service.
